What If Your Child Already Knows Exactly Who They Are, and We Just Have to Stop Getting in the Way

As parents, we love our children more than anything in this world, and because of that love, we pour so much of ourselves into shaping them, guiding them, and preparing them for life. But somewhere in that process, without even realizing it, many of us end up raising our children based on who we want them to be, what we value, what we wished for ourselves, or what we believe will make them successful, rather than tuning in to who they are already designed to be. And for a lot of kids, teens, and young adults, that gap between their true design and the expectations placed on them is where so much confusion, anxiety, and self-doubt quietly takes root.

This is something I feel deeply called to change, and it is one of the most meaningful parts of the work I do. Through Human Design, specifically an expanded approach that goes beyond the basics and really gets into the heart of how a person is wired, I am able to sit with young people and their families and share something that I truly believe every child deserves to know about themselves. Their blueprint. Their design. The map they were born with that tells us so much about how they are meant to learn, lead, make decisions, use their energy, and move through the world in a way that feels natural and right for them rather than forced and exhausting.

Imagine giving a young entrepreneur, or even a teenager who is just starting to figure out who they are, the gift of actually understanding themselves before life has had a chance to talk them out of it. Imagine a parent being able to say, "I see you, I understand how you are designed, and I am going to support that rather than work against it." And that is not just powerful, it is transformative, and the ripple effects of that kind of self-awareness at a young age are honestly incredible to witness.

What I offer for youth, and for their parents depending on the age of the child, is a Human Design blueprint session where we explore their type, their authority, their defined and undefined centers, and what all of that means in the context of their everyday life, their relationships, their schooling, and if they are already entrepreneurially minded, their budding business ideas and leadership potential. This is not about putting a label on anyone. It is about opening a door to self-understanding that most adults do not find until much later in life, if they find it at all, and giving our young people a head start on living as their most genuine, confident, and capable selves.

Our youth are not problems to be solved or blank slates to be filled in. They are already someone, and that someone is extraordinary. My job, and my joy, is simply to help them and the people who love them see it.
